The jeweler Veronika Ďuricová, who works under the artistic alias Dick Wolf, can really pluck some design aces from her sleeve. And she is not bluffing either, as she has a truly unique approach to jewelry.
The first ace is her loving and expanding fanbase, which becomes ever more dazzled by each collection Veronika launches – and the newest offers something wholly different than the preceding ones. Loyal fans of the Dick Wolf brand have made it one of the most successful Czech design love brands out there.
Secondly, Dick Wolf is synonymous with luxury. Such luxury is obvious not only to those who are not afraid to invest in jewelry and who understand its lasting value, but also those who wish to wear it every day and shake things up; and it is even better when such a hobby is affordable.
The third ace up Dick Wolf’s sleeve (but certainly not the last) is most important – courage. And it is courage which the designer showed off confidently in her recent Kolekce 34 collection, where she combines two crafts: jewelry making and knitting. In the artistic interpretation of Dick Wolf and Mikuláš Brukner (who oversaw the unique technological process of e-coating), these artistic spheres are only seemingly remote, because anyone seeing Kolekce 34 might get the idea that jewelry and knitting have always (super)naturally walked hand in hand. But even if that were the case, Dick Wolf is still the first – because her collection is rendered with an almost scary attention to detail.
But someone might perhaps get an entirely different vibe from Kolekce 34 – it may perhaps remind them of a sweater their grandmother knit for them when they were young. Wearing it was so humiliating; its knit was too wide, and it seemed like it had been made decades ago and that poor granny just lengthened the sleeves and added a cringy woolen bow instead of a brooch. And the color scheme… just unacceptable. Well, it is time to forget this fashion faux pas. We now have the “knitted” Kolekce 34 in which Veronika Ďuricová alias Dick Wolf really bared her design fangs while showing an immense sense for beauty. She has once again managed to materialize her bold vision in the form of unforgettable jewelry which will be just as beautiful today as in ten years’ time.
